You do not have to handle it alone.
Discovering an intimate image shared without permission can be frightening. The responsibility lies with the person sharing it without consent. You do not need to explain your choices or justify the existence of the image to deserve help. If you feel in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or someone you trust nearby.
Avoid making another copy circulate.
Keep the page URL, account name, and report reference where it is safe to do so. Avoid forwarding the image to friends or uploading it repeatedly to unfamiliar services. Do not download, copy, or share sexual content involving anyone under 18. Specialist services have specific routes for those situations.
Choose a specialist route.
For eligible adults, StopNCII.org can help create a hash of an intimate image on your device for participating platforms. For images taken when someone was under 18, NCMEC’s Take It Down offers a separate service. Read each service’s eligibility and coverage information. Neither service covers every website.
Keep control of the next step.
Use the platform’s dedicated intimate-image or sexual-exploitation reporting route where available. If there are threats or extortion, preserve the messages without engaging further when possible and seek specialist support. Unsona’s reporting interface accepts a description and a page URL; it does not ask members to upload explicit images as evidence.
